ABOUT

Dear Colleagues,

We are pleased to inform you that the ThEOR2016 Workshop is successfully over. The Workshop hosted more than 300 participants from different countries and attended by such honoured guests as the President of the Republic of Tatarstan, general directors of oil companies, recognized professionals in thermal methods.
At the closing of the Workshop, the participants agreed to conduct the Workshop every year!
We would therefore be very happy to meet you at the ThEOR2017!

At the present time production of unconventional oil reserves are actively carried in the world, due to increasing demand for energy. In this regard, development of the technologies, which allow to improve the efficiency and profitability of such oil fields development, is of a great importance, that’s why scientific researches are essential in this domain.

The aim of our conference is to unite the international experience in thermal oil recovery methods targeted to production optimization following the «responsible» field development concept basing on ecologically friendly and efficient production of oil fields. Also it is focused on creating of innovation technologies of production and in-situ refining of hydrocarbons of hard-to-recover and unconventional reserves including heavy oil, shale oil, light oil in low-permeability reservoirs and also natural bitumen.

There is intensive attention focused on reservoir development and recovery efficiency from the shallow heavy oil deposits in Republic of Tatarstan during the last decade. This situation is caused not only by the significant heavy oil reserves, but also by the government preferences provided for this research consumption process. At the present time Tatarstan is oriented to become the World Area of heavy oil development technologies.

The Thermal methods of EOR workshop will be held in Kazan Federal University on the base of Institute of geology and petroleum technologies on 28 June – 1 July 2016.

The Workshop will be based on Kazan (Volga region) Federal University due to the fact, what KFU has a great experience cumulated of researches conducted in development and refining of the hard-to-recover hydrocarbon reserves.
